Após 10 anos desde seu último disco de estúdio (“Sonic Origami”, de 1998), a banda inglesa URIAH HEEP finalmente anunciou o lançamento de um CD, intitulado “Wake The Sleeper” e programado para chegar às prateleiras das lojas no dia 2 de junho de 2008. A formação atual do grupo inclui o guitarrista Mick Box (o único membro fundador ainda presente), o baixista Trevor Bolder (na banda desde 1976), o vocalista Bernie Shaw, o tecladista Phil Lanzon (ambos desde 1986 no conjunto), e o novo baterista Russell Gilbrook, que entrou no ano passado substituindo Lee Kerslake. A capa do disco foi criada pelo artista Ioannis, que já fez vários trabalhos para bandas como DEEP PURPLE, ALLMAN BROTHERS, BON JOVI, KING CRIMSON, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, entre outros. O heavy metal progressivo do URIAH HEEP fez da banda inglesa uma das mais populares no cenário hard rock do início dos anos 70. Formado pelo guitarrista Mick Box e pelo vocalista David Byron no fim dos anos 60, o Uriah Heep lançou seu primeiro disco “Very ‘eavy…Very ‘umble” em 1970. Desde então, o grupo lançou 20 discos de estúdio e tocou para milhões de fãs por todo o globo. O URIAH HEEP permanece sendo um dos mais consistentes e persistentes atos do rock inglês, com vendas suplantando a marca dos 30 milhões de discos pelo mundo afora. “Wake The Sleeper” será o 21º disco de estúdio do grupo.

Gravações raras com qualidade razoável que cobre virtualmente um álbum inteiro de estúdio do Heep... é extensamente conhecido como "Five Miles Acetate" - gravado em 79, seguimento para o álbum "Fallen Angel"... Mas não foi concluído, pois Lawton e Kerslake deixaram a banda... Algumas de canções foram refeitas para o "Conquest" com Sloman nos vocais. 3 dessas canções apareceram em "Time Of Revelation" Box Set. Algumas dessas canções foram regravadas com lineup de Sloman e foram gravadas em "Conquest". Algumas canções - em várias compilações de raridades. Outras - nunca, em nenhum lugar. Aqui é um item de colecionador, em razoável qualidade. Para Heep maníacos e colecionadores do material de Lawton é item obrigatório.
